Is there any limit for number of devices that can use guest Wi-Fi?
No, there is no device limit.
Why Set Up Guest Wi-Fi?
Privacy: You don’t have to share your primary Wi-Fi password, hence keeping it safe and
exclusively for your use.
Control: Monitor and manage guest network activity separately by specifying a time duration for
guest access.
Can we see the data usage of guest Wi-Fi?
No, users will not be able to see the data consumption separately.
Can we control bandwidth in guest Wi-Fi?
No, users cannot control the bandwidth allocated for the guest wifi access. Guests will enjoy the speed as per current plan on primary router
How Do I Find the Guest Wi-Fi Password?
You can find the guest Wi-Fi password in your Tata play fiber application under Wi-Fi settings under the guest network section. It’s displayed alongside the network name (SSID)
Is it possible to extend the time duration for Guest wifi access?
Yes, users can edit the Guest Wifi duration anytime to extend access time for guests.
Does Guest Wifi always stay on?
Users will have the option to enable or disable it anytime.
Payments and Recharge
How can I check my recharge history?
You can view recharge history in the Payments section of the Tata Play Fiber app.
What happens if I miss my recharge due date?
Your internet service may be suspended until you recharge the account.
Is there a grace period after plan expiry?
No, there is no grace period
Can I recharge before my plan expires?
Yes, the amount will be parked in your wallet until expiry date
What payment methods are supported?
Credit card, debit card, UPI, net banking, and wallets are supported.
Can I get a GST invoice?
Yes. GST invoices are available in the app under billing history.
What should I do if payment fails but money is deducted?
The amount is usually refunded within 5–7 business days. If not, contact support.
Can I schedule future recharges?
Yes. You can enable AutoPay to automate future recharges.
How can I enable AutoPay?
Follow the steps below:
1. Open the Tata Play Fiber mobile app
2. Select plan to recharge
3. Select Continue with AutoPay option
4. Choose your preferred payment method
5. Confirm the setup

How can I check my internet speed?
You can run a speed test using websites or apps such as Speedtest.net or Fast.com while connected to your Tata Play Fiber network.
Why do I get lower speed on Wi‑Fi compared to LAN?
Wi‑Fi speeds can be affected by distance, walls, interference, and congestion, while LAN provides a more stable connection.
Why is my internet speed slower than my plan speed?
Wi-Fi speeds may vary due to device capability, distance from the router, wall interference, or multiple connected devices. Also ensure that you do speed test on 5G band and not on 2.4G band to compare the actual speed
How do I restart my router?
Switch off the router, wait for 30 seconds, and switch it back on.
How can I improve my Wi‑Fi speed?
- Restart the router
- Place the router in a central location
- Reduce the number of connected devices
What should I do if my speed issue continues?
If the issue persists, contact Tata Play Fiber customer support or raise a complaint through the mobile app.
Why does Wi-Fi work in one room but not another?
Walls, floors, and furniture can block Wi-Fi signals. You may improve coverage by placing the router centrally or using Wi-Fi extenders.
What should I do if my internet stops working suddenly?
Restart your router and check cable connections. If the issue persists, raise a service request through the app.
Why are some websites not loading even though Wi-Fi is connected?
This could be due to DNS issues, website outages, or browser problems. Restarting the router usually resolves the issue.
How can I improve Wi-Fi coverage in a large house?
You may install Wi-Fi mesh systems or extenders to improve coverage.
Pause & Resume
What is the Pause & Resume feature?
A. Pause & Resume allows you to temporarily stop your internet service when you are travelling or not using it. During the pause period, the internet service remains inactive, and the unused days of your plan are preserved when you resume the service.
How can I activate the Pause & Resume feature?
You can activate Pause & Resume through the Tata Play Fiber Mobile App. Follow the steps below:
1. Open the Tata Play Fiber mobile app
2. Go to Quick Actions
3. Select Pause & Resume
4. Choose the pause start date and resume date 5. Complete the Payment, if applicable
6. Confirm the requestWhat are the charges for Pause & Resume?
You can use the Pause feature once every 90 days without additional charges (up to 30 days). Additional pause requests within the same period may attract applicable charges as per below:
- 1–30 days pause – ₹236 (including GST)
- 1–90 days pause – ₹590 (including GST)
The maximum pause duration allowed is 90 days.
Will my OTT subscriptions continue during the pause period?
Yes, OTT subscriptions continue during the pause period. However, you will not be able to access them using the Tata Play Fiber connection while the service is paused.
How many times can I pause my Tata Play Fiber connection in a year?
There is no fixed limit on the number of times you can pause your connection. However, the connection should be active for more than 30 days on our network.
How do I check the remaining pause days available?
A. If your connection is currently paused, the Pause Status screen will automatically appear when you open the Tata Play Fiber mobile app. If you wish to resume your services before the selected resume date, simply click on “Resume Now” to submit the request. Once the request is placed, your services will be resumed shortly.
Can I pause my connection immediately or schedule it for later?
Yes. You can either pause the connection immediately or schedule a pause start date from the Tata Play Fiber mobile app.
What happens if I resume my service earlier than the selected resume date?
If you resume earlier, your internet service will be restored immediately, and your plan validity will continue from that date.
Can I pause my connection if my plan has expired?
No. The Pause feature is available only when your plan is active.
Will AutoPay still deduct the recharge amount while my service is paused?
No. AutoPay will not deduct charges during the pause period if your plan validity has been extended due to the pause.
Relocation
What is the Relocation feature?
The Relocation feature allows you to shift your Tata Play Fiber connection to another house or even another room/floor within the same house without taking a new connection.
What are the charges for the Relocation feature?
- Relocation within the same house/address: ₹177
- Relocation to a different address: ₹354
How can I apply for Relocation through the Tata Play Fiber mobile app?
Follow the steps below:
1. Open the Tata Play Fiber Mobile App
2. Go to the Support section
3. Select Relocation Request
4. Choose whether you want to move to the same address or a new address
5. Enter the required location details
6. Check feasibility of the new location, if applicable
7. Complete the payment

Can I schedule relocation for a specific date?
Yes, you can schedule relocation through the Tata Play Fiber mobile app depending on engineer availability.
Do I need to carry my router during relocation?
Yes. Please keep the router and related equipment ready for the engineer to reinstall at the new location
What if I misplace the router during relocation?
If the router is misplaced, please contact Tata Play Fiber customer support. Replacement charges may apply.
Can I cancel a relocation request?
Yes, relocation requests can be cancelled before the process begins through customer support.
Will my Wi-Fi name and password change after relocation?
No, your Wi‑Fi name and password will remain the same unless you change them manually.
How long does relocation take after submitting a request?
Relocation is typically completed within 24–72 hours depending on service availability and technician scheduling.
Refer and Earn
What is the Tata Play Fiber "Refer & Earn" program?
It is a reward program where existing Tata Play Fiber subscribers can earn a ₹300 cashback by successfully referring friends or neighbors to join the service.
How much cashback do I get for a successful referral?
You will receive ₹300 cashback for every friend who successfully installs a new Tata Play Fiber connection through your referral.
Where will my referral reward be credited?
The process is split into two steps:
Step 1: Your own details (Name and Registered Mobile Number).
Step 2: Your friend's contact details.
What details do I need to provide to start a referral?

You must be an existing subscriber to claim the cashback.
Ownership Change
What is the Ownership change in Tata Play Fiber?
Ownership change process refers to the procedure of transferring your Tata Play Fiber account to another individual.
What information is required for the change ownership?
You will need to provide the new owner’s basic details which include their name, date of birth, mobile number, and email address. Additionally, you will need to upload a live photo of the new owner and their documents (Proof of Identity and Proof of Address).
Can I transfer my service if my account is deactivated?
To initiate Ownership Change, the Tata Play Fiber account must be active
Will the new owner need to create a new account?
No, a new account will not be created for the new owner. The new owner will receive the existing services associated with your account.
What happens to my current service during the ownership change?
Your current service will continue until the transfer is completed. Once the new owner transfer request is approved by the Tata Play Fiber team, the new user will take over the service and billing.
Are there any fees associated with changing ownership?
There is no additional cost for changing ownership
From where can I initiate Ownership Change?
You can initiate Ownership Change from the Tata Play Fiber Mobile application under Support section
I had initiated Ownership Change but had to leave in the middle of the process. Do I need to restart the process?
If you have initiated the process, you can always pick up from where you left by going to Tata Play Fiber Mobile app > Support > Track requests > Upload live photo and documents.
I have initiated Ownership Change but not sure whether it is completed. Where do I check?
You can check the status of your request from the Tata Play Fiber Mobile App > Support > Track requests.

Recharge For Others
What is the “Recharge for Others” feature?
The “Recharge for Others” feature allows you to recharge on behalf of another user.
Who can use the “Recharge for Others” option?
Any existing Tata Play Fiber user can log in to the Tata Play Fiber mobile app and use this feature to make a payment for another user’s account.
Do I need the other user’s account details to make the payment?
Yes, you will need the other user’s registered mobile number linked to their Tata Play Fiber account, along with OTP authentication.
Can I pay for multiple users in one transaction?
Currently, the feature supports payment for one account at a time. To pay for multiple accounts, you’ll need to repeat the process.
Will the other user be notified after I make the payment?
Yes, the recipient will receive a confirmation SMS and/or email once the payment is successfully processed.
Is there any extra charge for recharging another user’s account?
No, there are no additional charges for using the “Recharge for Others” feature.
What happens if the payment fails?
If the payment fails, the amount will be refunded to your original payment method within the standard refund timeline (usually 3–7 business days).
Can I view the payment history for transactions made on behalf of others?
No, you cannot view the details of transactions made on behalf of other users. The payment history will only display transactions related to your own account.
Manage Payments
Can I Cancel the Autopay service on my account?
Yes, User can choose to cancel the autopay by self-help option available on APP
How can I unsubscribe the Autopay service on my account?
User need to click “Profile” on Home page, after that user need to select “Manage Payments” option and choose on Autopay and click “Cancel Autopay”
Can I choose the option of Autopay again in future?
Yes, you can anytime opt the option of Autopay again in future while enabling autopay at time of recharge
Can I remove the saved Debit / Credit cards or UPI on my account?
Yes, you can anytime remove the saved payment options by self-help option available on APP
How can I delete the saved Debit / Credit cards or UPI on my account?
User need to click “Profile” on Home page, after that user need to select “Manage Payments” option and choose on Saved Cards and click “delete” on the mentioned cards or Upi
Data Add-on
When will the customer receive the “You’re Almost Out of Data” message?
The customer will receive the “You’re Almost Out of Data” message once 90% (2,970 MB) of their data quota has been consumed.
What happens after I use all my high-speed data?
Once you exceed your plan’s high-speed data limit, your internet speed will be reduced. You’ll still have access to unlimited data, but at a lower speed.
How do I buy a data add-on?
Go to Quick Actions >> Data Packs in your MAPP dashboard. All available data packs will be listed there with pricing and details.
What is the validity of a data add-on in MAPP?
The validity of any data add-on will match the validity of your currently active plan.
Can I get my high-speed data back after crossing the limit?
Yes! You can purchase a data add-on to restore high-speed access. Add-ons give you extra GBs at highspeed and are available in multiple sizes to suit your needs.
Will the add-on extend my plan’s validity?
No. The data add-on only provides extra high-speed data. It does not change your plan’s validity—it will expire along with your base plan.
Can I buy more than one add-on?
Absolutely! You can buy multiple add-ons if needed.
Smart Speaker
Who can get this offer?
Available only on plan upgrades. Renewals are not eligible.
What do I need to do to receive the speaker?

The Smart router is provided at no extra cost. However it is the property of Tata Play Fiber and hence needs to be returned at the time of disconnection of services.
Will I get the full broadband speed promised in my plan?
Yes, The actual internet speed will be same as promised. This will be confirmed before installation.
Will I get a landline phone with the broadband connection?
You’ll get unlimited local and STD calls on request, but Tata Play Fiber does not provide a landline phone or receiver.

Can I receive monthly account statements on my e-mail address?
Yes, monthly account statements will be sent to you by email on your registered email address.
How can I ensure the safety of my child online in regards to Child Abuse Material (CAM), Cyber Bullying and blocking pornographic or inappropriate content?
Children are increasingly becoming a part of our online community. The Internet offers children many opportunities for learning, constructive entertainment, and personal growth. But there are a lot of risks that children face online. Filtering software like CYBERPATROL, NETNANNY, SURFWATCH etc can help keep children away from inappropriate online content. Parental controls can also be set up on a router, operating system, browser and firewall level. More information on how to setup parental controls via such mediums is easily available online. While such measures go a long way ensuring the kind of content your child is exposed to online, they are not a substitute for parental involvement in the child’s safety online.

How can I change my Tata Play Fiber Wi-Fi password?
To change your Tata Play Fiber Wi-Fi password, please login to the Tata Play Fiber mobile app and click the ‘More’ option at the bottom of the screen. Click on my Wi-Fi device, then click on ‘Settings’ and then Click on ‘Change Wi-Fi Password’. Type your new password to the field and click the save button. Now, your Wi-Fi password has changed. Alternatively, if you are facing any difficulty, please call our customer care at 1800 120 7777.
How to make the most of your Smart Router?
1. Connect Directly: Direct LAN/ethernet cables provide faster speeds.
2. Reboot Routine: Restart your router regularly to ensure the driver software is up to date.
3. Turn-off devices not in use: Devices/Apps not in active use consume bandwidth. Turning them off frees up bandwidth for use.
Does the performance of the Smart Router depend on its location in your home?
The strength of your Wi-Fi signal is dependent on the placement of your Smart Router. Getting the location right can make a world of difference to your broadband experience. Please ensure –
1. Find a central spot: Place your Smart Router in a central location in your house – preferably at a height.
2. Avoid interference: Keep your Smart Router away from large metal objects, heat/extreme cold sources, moisture, dust & plants. Keep microwave ovens, cordless phones and Bluetooth devices away.
What is a Smart Router?
The Tata Play Fiber Smart Router is a ONT + Router. It is a dual band router that has 2.4GHz & 5GHz
SPEED
Will the promised speed be consistent, no matter where I browse?
The overall browser performance will be dictated by the screen size, the distance between the Smart Router and the device (say, your computer) and number of devices connected to the internet at the same time. So, it may be possible that the same connection will serve 2-3 different speeds depending on the above-mentioned factors.
If I increase my internet speed from 50Mbps to 300Mbps, will my browsing speed improve by 6X?
Yes, the speed will go up 6 times. You will get 300 MBPS (On LAN). Higher speed offers you an enriched internet experience and it will enable higher number of devices to be connected on Internet simultaneously. WiFi experience, however, is always dependent on distance from the Router, wall or glass separation as well as number of devices (Smart TV, Laptop or Smartphone devices) simultaneously connected.
Do the speed-testers measure the speed of my connection?
Nearly all speed testing apps do not measure the speed but instead measure the bandwidth (capacity). Unfortunately, the bandwidth is the measure of how much data can the connection hold and not the speed (throughput) of the connection. It’s only the speed that governs the user app experience in most cases.

What is the difference between FTTH (100% Fiber Network) and other available technologies?
A 100% Fiber Network gives you end-to-end connectivity with fiber optics running directly into your homes – ensuring no leakage of speed & connectivity.
Vectorised Fiber or FTTB (Fiber-to-the-Building) is a mix of fibre and copper lines where the fiber lines run from the ISP only until your premises and copper lines from your premises to your home.
What is FTTH?
Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) or 100% Fiber Network is a cable that contains glass/plastic fibers that transmit light instead of electricity, thus promising superior speed. As a case in point, consider Google Fiber that offers speeds of up to 1Gbps, while a normal cable connection would max out on 200Mbit/s.
